Halo Pub
About This Spot
Stepping into Halo Pub on Hulfish Street is like stepping into a gentle pause from the bustle of Princeton’s streets. The shop carries a warm, slightly nostalgic air—a blend of vintage charm and casual comfort, with playful touches like cow-themed wall art that invite a smile before you even order. It’s the kind of place where the pace slows down just enough to savor the moment, whether you’re grabbing a quick scoop or treating yourself to a pint to enjoy later.
The atmosphere carries a quiet but joyful rhythm, full of simple pleasures: the hum of friendly conversation, the soft clink of spoons against cups, and the inviting aroma of freshly churned ice cream. There’s an understated elegance to how the flavors are presented, balancing classic favorites and imaginative twists in a way that feels both familiar and a little adventurous. From rich vanilla beans to vibrant fruit sorbets and intriguing blends like dark chocolate paired with cherries or nutty coffee chips, there’s a story in every scoop.
Inside, seating might be modest, encouraging more of a takeaway vibe or a brief pause on the go, but that doesn’t diminish the connection you feel with the place. It’s this easygoing friendliness mixed with a hint of discovery that makes Halo Pub stand out. Whether you’re indulging in a buttery pecan or exploring flavors that surprise you, the generosity of the portions mirrors the warmth of the welcome. It’s a neighborhood spot that invites you to slow down, venture a little, and relish simple, genuine moments of delight.

Good ice cream in a very convenient spot. The cow decorations on the wall were very fun and the ice cream was soft and delicious. The scoops were very generous and not too expensive.

It is a sweet, dusky, vintage-y place to go to. Pretty decorations! I really liked the seats in the back. I usually do not go for chocolate flavored ice cream but that's all they had!! Did not disappoint! I got the chocolate-cherries & vanilla almond choco !! It was delicious.! Must try

Lovely place. A colleague who lives nearby recommended it during lunch. No waiting at about 1:45pm on Friday. Lots of interesting new flavors I haven't seen before, but I opted for the basic flavors first and will try some different ones when I return next time. I purchased a pint and ate it all on my walk back to my car!!

The best strawberry ice cream I’ve ever had! It was so good and tasted like real strawberries! The line was almost around the block but moved really quickly. Only thing is they don’t offer samples :( so you just gotta commit without knowing what it tastes like. Would definitely come again!

Lots of really good flavors. They are willing to do two half scoops to make it a scoop. That’s a really flexible way to try two different flavors. I tried rum raisin and cashew caramel. Rum raisin is a flavor that’s not commonly available and this place had it. Cashew flavor was a new flavor and the combination made it unique. All other flavors were also nice. There is no real place to sit inside so it’s more of pick and go style. They open at noon on Sunday and lines quickly build up.

This ice cream parlor offers an excellent variety with a fantastic selection of flavors. Their vanilla is a standout and easily my favorite. It's a must-visit for any ice cream lover!

A terrific ice cream spot in downtown Princeton. There were a number of fun flavors to choose from, and I got a scoop of the chocolate chocolate chip and a fancy Parisan hot chocolate to wash it down. Both were wonderful. The decor is a clear throwback to its older pub days, but it gets marks for the cleanliness you want in an ice cream shop. The staff was young but super nice. It was a great finish to the super spicy Chinese food I has for lunch. Worth stopping by.
